Oubaitori- Japanese knowledge evergreen…

**The Art of Blooming in Your Own Season**

I’ve spent most of my life thinking I was late.

Late to success.

Late to purpose.

Late to figuring out who I’m supposed to be.

It felt like everyone else had a head start. They were growing faster, doing more, rising quicker. And I kept wondering what was wrong with me.

Then I came across a quiet little word that felt like it cracked something open inside my chest:

Oubaitori.

It comes from four spring trees in Japan—cherry, plum, apricot, and peach.

Each one blooms, but not at the same time.

Each one grows at its own pace.

Each one carries its own beauty.

And the meaning hits like a truth you’ve always known:

Never compare your blooming to someone else’s.

Every soul has its own season.

The more I sat with it, the more I realized I’d been dragging myself through someone else’s timeline.

Trying to write faster. Grow faster. Become something sooner.

As if my worth depended on speed.

But the mind doesn’t work that way.

The heart doesn’t grow that way.

Identity doesn’t unfold that way.

We bloom in moments that don’t always look glamorous.

We bloom when life breaks us open.

We bloom when something silent inside us starts waking up.

And here’s what hit me hardest:

There is no “behind” when the journey is yours.

The world loves rankings, deadlines, milestones.

But the inner world?

It moves like weather.

Slow.

Subtle.

Sacred.

Every experience we’ve lived becomes part of our roots.

Every doubt we’ve carried becomes part of our soil.

Every quiet moment becomes sunlight.

Blooming isn’t a race.

It’s remembering.

And Oubaitori reminds me of one thing over and over:

The goal is not to bloom faster.

The goal is to bloom true.

When I write, when I build, when I discover who I’m becoming—I’m not trying to keep up anymore. I’m trying to grow into myself. Fully. Honestly. Without noise.

Because when you stop sprinting toward someone else’s life, you finally have the breath to walk your own.

And maybe that’s the whole point.

Your season is coming.

Your tree isn’t late.

It’s just yours.

And when it blooms…

it’ll make sense why it took the time it needed….

Enjoy your day and read you next time 😉
